"BANG as the clapper went the 12 year old girls set off. I was sprinting around the corner of the field trying to tell my friend beside me “Run! All the girls at the back are catching up to us!!!
EWW mud!! I was slipping and sliding all around the mud puddle on the track trying to catch up to my opponents but I was already tired. Gasping for breath I was determined to try and pass them. The track was winding through the trees towards Tamaki College. It got really narrow in places. Sometimes I even felt like I was going to fall down the bank
As I got closer to the finish line everybody was cheering for me to run . I put on a burst of speed and gasping for breath ran passed one of my opponents Chante. As I finished I felt drained of energy but I was proud of myself for coming 9th.
